The Movie Network is a pay television service available in eastern Canada, with premiere access to Hollywood hit movies, critically-acclaimed HBO and Showtime series, and first-rate Canadian programming.

The Movie Network service includes 7 multiplex channels, including 2 channels of classic hit movies on Mpix, HBO Canada, The Movie Network OnDemand, Mpix OnDemand, and 3 HD channels, which deliver diverse and entertaining programs in an uncut and commercial-free television environment.

How much does this all cost?

Because you will be ordering The Movie Network through your cable or satellite company, prices vary depending on your service provider and different promotions they might have. Please contact your cable or satellite provider for more specific details.

Do I have to pay for every movie?

No. When you subscribe to The Movie Network you pay only one low monthly fee on your bill for all of our great movies and exclusive series, 24 hours a day.

How do I subscribe?

You need to contact your service provider to sign up for the network. You can also contact us directly at 1-800-565-MOVIES (6684). Please visit JoinTMN.ca for more information.

What is HBO Canada?

Can I just subscribe to HBO Canada without The Movie Network?

Will other non-HBO series and Hollywood movies still be available on The Movie Network?

What is MHD, HBO Canada HD and Mpix HD?

MHD, HBO Canada HD, and Mpix HD are High Definition channels. High Definition is superior picture quality. HDTV movies are shown in 16 by 9 wide screen format, larger than can be seen on conventional television. Television images are measured in lines of resolution. Where a traditional television set has 525 lines of resolution, HD televisions have 1080 lines resulting in superior picture quality. HDTV requires a HD ready television set, and a HD decoder from your service provider.

Does The Movie Network carry movies in HDTV format?

At this time we guarantee at least one (usually many more) premiere movies a month in the HDTV format. This is a new technology that The Movie Network has invested in and we are in the process of integrating it onto our Network. As each month goes by our inventory of HD titles will continue to grow. We are also awaiting full participation from studios and distributors to allow us to bring more of these features onto the network. There is no extra cost to the subscriber for this feature, although as indicated above it does require an HDTV and HD decoder.

Does The Movie Network carry movies in Dolby Digital 5.1?

The Movie Network does carry movies in Dolby Digital 5.1. Not all of our movies are in DD 5.1 but we are working with the studios to receive as many movies in this format as possible as not all studios are capable of producing movies in DD 5.1 for television broadcast. Since The Movie Network is the first in Canada to be broadcasting in DD 5.1, our library is continuing to expand.

What is Viewer's Pick on Mpix?

Every month a movie requested by one of our subscribers is selected as the Viewer's Pick and added to the programming schedule. That viewer will have their name printed in Movie Entertainment Magazine, as well as On Air, and will also receive an Mpix prize pack!
