Tom continues to play Devil’s advocate this season as he tries to convince Mike that Pen is not what she seems. He had questions about Pen’s daughter’s drowning, and they remain unanswered. As Mike pulls toward Pen, Tom pulls him back, constantly doing his best to point out the inconsistencies in her behaviour and the possibility that she may not be the person Mike believes she is.
