About the Show
The Line follows a collection of cops, criminals and everybody in between as they intersect then fall with the rhythms of a combustible suburban wasteland. At the centre of this world are Max (Ron White) and Donny (Daniel Kash), two cops who are as morally ambiguous as the criminals they pursue. Max has lost interest in conventional police work and has developed his own methods for dealing with the criminals he’s hell bent on destroying. Donny has almost been completely torn apart by the job, yet he remains optimistic in the face of his crumbling life.
Eventually, Max and Donny’s paths intertwine with Carlos (Cle Bennet), a mid-level drug dealer with an anxiety problem. Carlos is caught between warring drug suppliers Andre (Wes Williams) and Eddie (Von Flores) and a wife (Sarah Manninen) who wants nothing to do with him. In Carlos, Max sees an opportunity to sabotage the criminal underpinning of the entire neighborhood. As the stakes run higher, the world gets messier and the emotions become more desperate and raw.
In this dark, humane comedy, actions beget consequences that seep outwards, affecting not only cops and criminals, but also the people who surround them: their wives, mothers, children and brothers.
